I too am a big fan of Omega. Very versatile. I started at version 1.56, now using 6.5
As a side note, I use Illustrator interchangeably with Omega, especially now that you can copy/paste from one to the other. But, Illustrator is not a production software, more of a stellar design/preflight software.
I've heard Onyx is pretty good for wide format printers. Mucho color control.

I started with Gerber and moved to Casmate and then to Flexi and am happy with it.What I can customize is the tool bar layout. I can have only those I use regularly and place them where I want them giving me the best use of real estate on my screen. I can customize forms, like work orders and estimates. I can make and save custom colors and blends for specific jobs or customers. I can save quite a bit of customer information with each job and tracking the project is easy. What type of customization would you want?

another production program I use is called Graphic Tracer. I has rather advanced scan, vectorize, and editing tools and is excellent at font identification and replacement.

Okay, I design in CorelX5 and cut with Flex, all Windows 7. No online subscriptions here.
