Hello all,
I have to apply a 10" wide stripe around a drum of a concrete mixer. Then put a .50 stripe on each side of stripe.
I have never done this before. Can I apply a straight stripe or does it need to be cut curved? Can someone give me some tips?

10 inch wide stripe, I'd use ControlTac (Air Release Vinyl) for that. I don't think you need to cut it on a curve. When they make the barrels, the metal is straight, but it's rounded around like a tall straight drinking glass. Then it's welded to the ends, which are usually pretty straight. Think of how a ice cream cone paper holder is made. So you have two ice cream cone holders at each end with a rounded piece in the middle holding them together.

Thanks Alicia! I have to cut the stripes from Oracal 951 vinyl to match the green of the logo. I thought about using Oracal 751 but decided to go with 951. Wish me luck, I have 5 to stripe.

Just so you don't waste too much vinyl Judy...

Measure and mark every 24" all around the drum where you want the stripes.
Apply masking tape following the marks.
Then apply the vinyl stripes by aligning with the masking tape.

Just a thought

I wished I lived nearer to you. We could do a video, it'd be a blast.
