Have you ever read this,,,
Exodus 35:31-32 New International Version (NIV)
31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— 32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,
I like that, a lot!!

The Pope said, "Artists are the apostles of beauty."

Very cool.

Back in those Old Testament days they did some serious decorating. Check out Solomon's temple - massive amounts of gilding. That would have been truly awesome to see!

Alicia, I am sure He "likes you a lot" too! He is a creative God and I think He enjoys it when we use the talents given us.

I also really like your u-tube striping videos.

Solomon's temple had serious amounts of metals in it. I got left to my own (electronic) devices one day, cross referenced a few scriptures, got the calculator out and came up with the following reported amounts in the scriptures. Other scriptures indicate some of the metals were of a quantity not even measured.

GOLD: 497.5 cu ft (14.1 cu m). It would fill a 50' x 50' (15.24 m x 15.24 m) room 2.4" (6 cm) deep. Based on the latest figures I could find, this is about 1/650 of all the gold mined in world history.

SILVER: 1,947 cu ft (55.14 cu m). It would fill a 50' x 50' (15.24 m x 15.24 m) room 9.35" (23.75 cm) deep. Based on the latest figures I could find, this is about 1/1800 of all the silver mined in world history.

COPPER: 2,416 cu ft (68.41 cu m). It would fill a 50' x 50' (15.24 m x 15.24 m) room 11.6" (29.5 cm) deep.

IRON: 15,258 cu ft (432 cu m). It would fill a 50' x 50' (15.24 m x 15.24 m) room 73.25" (1.86 m) deep.

Solomon's temple was one ornate building!

In the 420 years Solomon's temple was in existence, portions of the gold, copper, and other expensive metals were taken away to bribe a few foreign powers that threatened the nation during that time. The temple was also allowed to fall into disrepair on occasion when true worship was neglected. The Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, tore the temple down and hauled off all the remaining valuables about 600 years before Christ.

Seventy years later, after the Medes and Persians conquered Babylon, the Jews were allowed to return and rebuild the temple and were allowed to use what precious metals had been recovered from the Babylonians. The rebuilt temple wasn't nearly as large and ornate as the one built by Solomon.
