I have a customer who downloaded a True Type font as noted in subject line that is really very poor quality . Has anyone else experienced this poor quality with a true type font? The edges of the round letters are really jagged. Can someone point me in the right direction for a good quality font of the same Euro Bold Italic?

It shouldn't have anything to do with the font file extension. It seems as though a lot of fonts these days, particularly those that are labelled as 'free', are poorly rendered versions of the real deal. Basically, they are knock offs. I see this more and more as the demand for premium fonts and the selling price of such fonts seem to steadily rise. I think they more or less download samples of all of the letterforms and just use a vector program to auto-trace them. Some of the resulting letterforms are downright hideous looking upon close inspection.

Thanks much Curt! I have ordered several of the LHF fonts as well as SIGN DNA, but have relied on what came with Flexi and Omega for other fonts for the most part. To have this font in a clean version is very well worth the $35.00. Thanks again! Now I have to get to work "rebuilding" this customer logo...

I just received a file for a few decals from a designer with a collage degree. The character below is one of 12 characters which were all bad. The font was supposed to be Univers light condensed italic. Did not look too bad at 1/2" tall, so I just cut them.

Stuff like this makes me yearn for the day I turn my plotter off for good.

There are so many so-called fonts out there now that you can usually find another one that will pretty closely match what you're looking for.

You're looking for Eurostyle Bold Italic? Depending on how picky your customer is, you could use Microgramma Bold and slant it a bit.

Many of the fonts out there today are just a little tweak on an old classic. All they have to do, is make a minor change in some aspect of some of the characters, and it's called a new font.
