I'm looking for a rudimentary fade on some beige vinyl in line with the old Norwegian air brush move (Butch Anton?). Norwegian airbrush as I know it is taking Krylon spray paint rattle can and just hand fading your blends on the cut vinyl before you weed, then clear coating, then weeding.
Wondering if the Krylon spray paint for plastic is still working well on vinyl?
AND Secondly, if there is a different clear coat that you have successfully used or know to work, besides the Frog Juice...which I can't get by today or tomorrow.
Thanks Heads!
Phil.

Haven't done it this way since getting the roland printer, but the last few times I use the krylon fusion it worked well. I didn't use a clear coat either. I wiped the vinyl with alcohol, cut the vinyl, spray the fade and weed before the paint dries and closes the cuts. This part can get a bit messy. Have also sprayed the krylon in a cup and put it in an air brush.

Krylon Fusion sticks well to vinyl with no need to clear. Experiment on scrap first and remember to bounce the spray off a piece of cardboard. Using the can only will usually spray way too much paint.

I agree - nice idea for the spray-bounce Dave. You should TM that term.

hmm, I used fusion last week and had problems with the clear transfer paper pulling off some of the fade. I was going to clear it with krylon clear. Anyone else have problems with adhesion of fusion on hp 3m 220?

Seems like Dave nearly always has some good answers for questions that are asked here...now if he can figure how I can get paid by the State of Tennessee for some work I did I'll be grateful...there are pages of forms and a manual that are both confusing, frustrating, and time consuming...if I had know it was this much trouble to work for the state I would have added another $200 to my bill...f**k this...I'm supposed to be retired...I'm loading up the kayaks and we're off to the river...maybe when we get back I'll give it another go.
