Now they want some "transparencies" for the GFL welcome center. At the risk of looking dumb to my customer, I'll ask you guys: what do they want?
quote:Hi Wayne, We are trying to have a transparency made for the FL welcome center on 231 and were hoping you did those. Do you have the ability to produce these? They are the signs that go in the lighted panels.
Thanks, xxxxxxx

Could it be a transparency of an image (1.e. a photo or illustration )to be incorporated on the face of the translucent sign panel?........Heck! That is what I understand.
Other than the ones ( transparencies ) we make on acetate, with a photocopier and/or a Sharpie marker, for enlarging illustrations and signs, with an overhead projector, on a wall or a sign panel.

That's what came to mind. I could pull out my overhead projector (which I never use anymore), but I don't think that's what they want. I asked him if he wanted more translucent panels (like in the lighted sign). Waiting for a reply.

It's some kind of backlit display they rent out at the FL welcome center on the state line. You rent the little space and put your own transparency in it.

If that is the case, then it has to be a backlit screen, where transparencies of photos or graphics are going to be attached ( somehow ) to it, so they receive the light from the inside of the box which holds it, thus giving it a 3-D effect.

Wayne, I used to work for an outdoor advertising company in Northern New York. One of our clients had a business that used the item you are asking about. The transparencies were made by 3M and were available in very large format. The sign had a white plex face, overlaid with the transparency, overlaid by a clear plex face. I don't recall the size, but they could be a bear to install, and you needed 4 men to handle them. The ones we worked with were at least 8' high x 16' long, if not bigger. The transparency went between the white and the clear faces, which were each one piece. Sorry, I can't be of more help. Peace, Don
