Diane, we used self tapping stainless steel sheet metal screws the same kind they used to hold the metal to the frame of the building. We got them from Fastenal.

The screws work well, and it only takes 2 people to be able to hold and fasten. The problem I see with VHB tape is you need to place it RIGHT the first time. Once the tape hits the building it will be tough to align the panel. The screws are self-drilling, so you do not need to drill holes, just get it aligned, one person holds in place while the other shoots the screws in.

Agree with the self screwing fasteners. Instead of the vhb tape, I usually use a 5 metre length of 50mm aluminium angle and fix with the same screws where bottom of sign will be. This is temporary. Sit your panels on this for ease of mounting and levelling, pop in a few fixings on top and then remove the temporary angle and fix bottom permanently. Hope this all makes sense.

I'd just use silicone adhesive, instead of the VHB tape, and then go with the screws. Just the screws should be enough; but the adhesive will give an extra measure of security.

I designed the panels so that the seams are between letters and are on the flat part of the corregation. I like the idea of the angle temp support bracket.
