A mural that Chris Shuster, John Byrd and I painted this fall is up for a People's Choice award in Signs of the Times magazine. At the risk of sounding cheesy, we would appreciate your vote. There are several other signs in the contest, no doubt by other talented members of the Letterheads, so show some love and vote for your favorites. Thanks and here's the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/33J27WL

It's a wonderful mural, I just wish the picture was a bit brighter, it doesn't do it justice...but you have my vote.

Thanks for the support, y'all. Kelly, you're absolutely right - the picture was taken with a cell phone and the lighting was not ideal. We were trying to make the deadline for the Signs of the Times contest - Chris and I manhandled the stepping stones into place, spread some pinestraw at the base, shot the photo, and sent it in to Steve Aust, who was kind enough to give us an extra day. I have a photographer friend I'm swapping a sign with who's taking some decent photos once the landscaping and lighting is installed. The mayor told me people were lined up to shoot family photos after the Christmas parade, which is exactly what we were hoping.
Just to make things clear, John joined us for a day and painted the "other side" of the tunnel, but it was basically Chris and I, along with some help from Martin Haddock who were in the trenches. After a month, it became a "labor of love" because the dedication Chris put into this project was way more than either of us received in compensation. That said, payback comes in many different ways and as we all know, sometimes an "atta-boy" is just as good as the check....
