yes i did david........after i installed WINDOWS 7 on the wifes computer))))) MY SELF, when i up grade an OS........i leave the old hard drive alone, i buy a new hard drive and install the OS, then move the info from old hard drive, after i install the programs to it. and THIS WAY....if i ever have a problem with the newer hard drive.....i still have the old one to fall back on. and usually its a good idea do it this way if you been running that old hard drive more then 4-5 years)))))

ok, I have another question. My laptop is windows 8.1. I brougt my hasp usb device home with me to install Signlab 8 on the laptop to use as a backup in case something goes wrong with my shop desktop. Is Signlab 8 compatible with Windows 8.1. The computer does not want to recognize my hasp device. HELP! Thanks.

I won't mention my opinion of Signlab...LOL
But...just a thought...is the USB device USB2 or USB3 compatible?...and are the USB ports on the laptop USB2 or USB3???
As silly as it might seem...the two USB options are not always compatible.

youre windows 8.1 wasnt invented when your hasp was made...that should tell you something. unless you have a touch screen on that new computer.......windows 8.1 is useless....... XP OR WIN 7 reloaded on the laptop would make it work like youre other computer.

you might want to go to the site for your hasp/dongle manufacturer and see if there are windows 7/8 drivers for it that need to be updated in order for it to function properly that can be downloaded and installed first
