I'm building a base for a sign and want to use faux stone - are there any readily available products out there you'd recommend?
Thanks.....

Is this about right, Sonny? If so, I'll see about getting you a brand name. But I think these are made locally; Panama City I think. -

Texture plus & Faux panels. I have not used either one, bit I do have samples from Texture plus and they look good.

I used Texture Plus on this sign.

 -

They are having a lot of trouble with people picking at it, it was nice to use and looked great, but I found the surface coating just wasn't tough enough for me to use it for this purpose again. I will be using cultured stone or real stone facing on the next couple.

Thanks y'all.
Wayne, as I recall that was a cast concrete product - great sign. Is it metal lath and adhesive or mortared?

Thanks Eric and Kelly on the Texture Plus - is that a foam EIFS coated material? Does it come in sheets or individual stones?

Brent, you always know the good stuff - the house pictured on Eldorado's website blows me away:
http://www.eldoradostone.com/trade-community/

I saw some manufactured (cultured?) stone today at a brickyard that looks like it may do the trick - about $4 a square foot. I suppose I'm adding a new facet to my repertoire - "stonedmason" - hope my back and knees can handle this.....

Yes it is coated urethane type foam. It comes in sheets I think they are 2'x4'. I was doing some research for a project that didn't happen a while back, there are a couple companies doing that type of faux stone all of them carried different sizes, shapes and styles.

Sonny that's all mortar and concrete. It has a concrete block core. I will try to find out what brand the faux stone is.
