What do I use to remove spray paint grafetti? I don't know what type of paint the sign background is. Most likely latex. I am hoping to beable to take the sign down and do it in the shop, since the temps outside are in the 30's. (Winter is near)

Motsenbockers Graffiti Remover is awesome stuff but you're gonna have to test it first to make sure it won't eat the spray paint and the background paint too.

I never tried in on latex. But, rapid remover works well on properly cured oil based backgrounds and vehicle finishes - if you attack the graffiti before it has time to fully cure.
If it is cured, you're probably best off following Si's advice because trying to touch it up will likely be a bigger headache than it's worth.

I found a product called Goof Off years ago. Don't know it's whereabouts now.

I took a close look at the sign. besides the spray paint, one side has the paint peeiling down to the HDU, in a spot then size of a quater, the other side , someone took a nail and scraped in some word.. So, it will haave to haave the vinyl removed, and the paint sanded down, and reprimed where it is peeled. Then repAint. I will probably have to re-gold leaf the 1 letter on both sides. Luckily, the sign is low enough for an easy removal.
Have a Merry Christmas
