I was doing a truck yesterday. I was doing the airbrush shady, fady thing, like I had seen Dennis Jones do back in the 1980's. Plus the striping around the lettering like I had seen so many others do. And I SAID to myself, "Is this now your style? What is my style?" Yes, I talk to myself. I mean, we all had to start somewhere with a style or trend that we liked. You don't say that Bob Dylan plays like Woody Guthrie, you just say that Bob Dylan plays like Bob Dylan, but it still kinda like a Woody Guthrie style. Both of them play guitar and their songs are very poetic, Very "Voice of the Soul" As for me, I have always figured my style is what best suits the job and the customer's budget. And I can say, I think my layouts look very happy. Happy letters and colors, standing proudly proclaiming, "Here we are, and aint we spectacular?"

It happens slowly. Like a watched pot...it never seems to boil. Then one day you wake you and you've been doing this half of your life. All of a sudden you have a body of work and others can see your style but rarely yourself.

If you never leave the PNW, you are still Nation Wide. Your style is obvious to us sign folks and when the phone rings they are calling your style...because they see it toooo.!
