Today I talked with Mark Yearwood. His wife, Carolyn, underwent a 13 hour cancer surgery last Thursday to remove a kidney and her colon. The surgery was successful but she will now have to go through chemo and/or radiation. Mark is staying in Tulsa with her.
Please continue to remember the Yearwoods in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Ray for the update. I'm with Sonny on this one. Get us an address so we can send them a card. Cards really do help lift one's spirit and I think Mark will be overwhelmed with the response he will get from all of us.
Sign-cerely, Steve

As a side note...if you haven't had a colon exam, please get one, especially if you are over 50. I had my second one yesterday and two polyps were found - one removed during the procedure and the other will be taken by surgery later. Biopsy results will take a few days, but everything looks benign for now.

Ray, I just got on here and saw this. They didn't remove any kidneys, but did take the bladder. Kidneys are fine, thank God.
We are now home and she is recovering well. There will be follow up treatments at some point, so will still be a long road. We will get through it. Thanks everyone for prayers and thoughts! -Mark

One more thing. I will be a walking advertisement for Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa. We have experienced the most compassionate care from all of the doctors, nurses and staff. We have met other cancer patients who left other well known centers to go to CTCA and had survived after being told to go home.
Dr Pierre Greef was our surgeon and is one of the best in the world. He is also a two time cancer survivor so is very understanding and kind. I would send any family member to get care at CTCA. In my book, they are simply amazing.
