Tim..until I started using that program, PDF's always imported into Corel as bitmaps.
Once I started using it, the graphics imported as editable PS files...Works great!!! (as long as the PDF graphic is vector to start with)

Dave, I use Corel X3 & open (import) PDFs directly, and as long as they were created from a 'sensible' program, the text comes out as vectors.
I haven't ever used a 'converter' program.
Maybe I'm the weird one...

I keep having more problems with X3 not opening PDFs by saying they're corrupt. In an online search someone said they could open these problem files in INKSCAPE (the open source vector program) and then export them as an EPS, they are then able to be opened in X3. I downloaded Inkscape, tried it and it worked on the first PDF I tested it on. So far so good.

I sometimes got that message when PDF files had been made in the newest Adobe products. Corel X5 has more up to date import filters, although I still run into occasional incompatibility. I will download Inkscape for a backup option. Thank you for the info, Joy.
