At my age I feel it all depends on where you lived or where you've been as some of that signage is from a different environment of where I've grown up. However, I have seen some of those signs which some were older then dirt still either on posts or the sides of buildings as late as in the 80's

Remembering where I've seen these things are a different matter altogether because some of those are on my property, whether inside or outdoors

Nice, thanks for sharing

Good stuff. You can get a feel for what life was like back then, and I think it was better, all things considered. What a waste to be young and free now.

I had 25 of the Standard Feed Signs that I sold on ebay. They were original still in the box. My grandfather was a salesman for them and I found them after my dad died and we cleaned out his office. Don't worry, I did keep a few of them.

The Buick sign says "Valve in head" beneath the Buick logo. Early Buicks had the valves on the head, ergo 'overhead valves'. These neon signs were made by the Walker Bros Co in Detroit and used by many GM dealerships across the country. Probably late 30 or 40s and not 50s. I know of a GM store out in central Kansas that still has them all up including long multi colored horizontal porceline banners above the parking lot. They have kept them in fine shape and still look practically new.

I did rebuild one of the Buick signs ten years ago for a solo Buick point that is now gone. Amazingly the one shot sign colors match the porceline colors very well in touch up. The most rare are the Cadillac ones, I have heard.
