Topic: SIGN•FOAM3 now made with recycled plastics!

That's right the highest quality, most reliable HDU ever is now made with a minimum of 16% post consumer recycled plastics. Now 16% might not seem like much, but think of it this way. 1 sheet 4'x8' of 1".5" 15lb weighs 60lbs. That means that 9.5 pounds of that sheet is made of up post consumer and post industrial recycled plastics. The very same plastics that are in your recycled water bottles. 9.5 pounds of plastics is equal to about 240 empty water bottles, 240 water bottles not going in to our landfills. Now that is something we are proud of and you should be to. Oh and one more thing we did all this, and lowered the price at the same time!! Most dependable, Most green and now more cost effective. If you would like a free sample kit of Sign•Foam3, now with a more environmentally friendly formula, just leave your name, address and phone number, and we'll get one right out to you. -------------------- "I don't bother saying anything that doesn't take a long time to say" Joe Scienski Sign•Foam3 Dana Point, CA, USA www.signfoam.com

Does this change the characteristics of the product. Which is to say, will it render more or less fine detail? And how about the dust. Your product is one of the best for not having as much gritty dust particles. Is priming the same? You're Welcome to all.. pass the word and we'll keep the samples coming!!! To Joe, we took just over two years to perfect this formula change and we were not going to do a thing that caused a noticeable change in our material in either machining or finishing. So the real answer is no, you should not notice a any changes whatsoever, but I'll let you guys to me. -------------------- "I don't bother saying anything that doesn't take a long time to say" Joe Scienski Sign•Foam3 Dana Point, CA, USA www.signfoam.com

Bob, let me try and put your exit anatomy at ease. First thing is MOST often, formula changes are intended to fix an existing problem or issue, which is not the case in this case. The other primary reason to change formula is to adjust to changes in what is available and usable in the raw chemical market, again not an the case here. We took our time, we have done more R&D on this formulation change than any other single change we have ever made. You will receive the samples shortly I would be more than surprise if you could tell new from old in ANY side by side comparison. -------------------- "I don't bother saying anything that doesn't take a long time to say" Joe Scienski Sign•Foam3 Dana Point, CA, USA www.signfoam.com

I've always felt that using SignFoam is more environmentally responsible than using redwood or mahogany anyway. Using recycled material now makes it more so. I'll give this a try, if you send to Canada, my info is right there. I have been using nothing but HDU for several years now, except when specified by customers. Good for you Sign-Foam. Question: do you have heavier weights than 15lbs and do they also contain recycled plastics in the same proportions ( I rarely use 15lbs...) thanks -------------------- Rene Giroux Perfexion.ca Gatineau, QC.www.renegiroux.com I'd rather regret things I did than things I didn't do!

To Rene, Yes the math is consistent throughout the densities. So a 4'x8'x1.5" sheet of 18lb. weighs 72 pounds, 16% of that is 11.5 pounds of green content, which is equal to about 264 water bottles of recycled plastics!! -------------------- "I don't bother saying anything that doesn't take a long time to say" Joe Scienski Sign•Foam3 Dana Point, CA, USA www.signfoam.com
