Hi Folks,
at long last I've quickly slapped together this gallery of a few pictures, tasken by assorted photographers at the meet.
There are about 170 pix.
Hope you enjoy them- it was a great time- Guy Richards & crew did a good job, and also special thanks to Signsheet Distributors!

(if they don't all appear there, they're probably still being uploaded!)

Been fixing the router & finishing 3 big projects, Jon- that's why I'm 6 weeks late with getting these Tassie pictures up!
(the router's going well now, btw, and I've just put a new bed on it & faced/skimmed it level.)

Thanks for the pics Ian. Enjoyed them. Looks like a good meet. Sorry I missed it.

Some great shots .... but maybe you should edit them down to the best. It was a marathon slide show!

Also edit them in Photoshop or something similar. Lot were dark and hard to define.

Jon, I'd already pruned the quantity down to about half of what I had, and I was too tired to try any more! It was easier to just make them thumbnails which you can skip if wanted. Most people took photos of people rather than projects, you'll notice!

As for being too dark- it all depends on the camera it was taken with, I guess, but all appear fine here on two different monitors without any lightness needing editing- perhaps your monitor is a bit darker than normal?

Thanks, Barb!

next in Waga Waga Dave. I'm driving down and probably Kel. Maybe we could get a minibus load with Stewey etc.

Also planning on going to next Kiwi Meet, October next year in Wellington at the Fine Arts College there. Airfares are dirt cheap, under $400 return!

Whoever face-painted the lawnmower running down Lance Stapleton's beard did a great job too- I think that happened at around 2 am one night!
(& I think Guy airbrushed the 'torn' t-shirt with pierced bellybutton ring that Lance wore all weekend.)

The fridge was very nicely done by Dan Seddon, next year's Letterheads-Oz host.

Kev Browne taught the realistic flames demos on the old army hats.

Paul J took the gilding group, and we also did some faux metallic finishes.

I did the aluminium etching, which didn't really work when hydrochloric acid was used, and it was also rather ineffective with rust-converter, but I took a piece home and did it with ferric chloride, and it is pictured- about 45 seconds etching was all it took on a warmish day. The ruler is there to show you the word 'Tasmania' in characters barely 1 mm high which etched very clearly.

Rob Griffith from Visual Impact was there to record the event, and Troy & Pat from Signsheet Distributors were very generous sponsors, great supporters, and great cooks, too.

Kev won the pinstriping race in the end- he was pretty warmed up by then- an unfair advantage!!!

I also put some photos of the murals in North Hobart- about 6 km from Guy's workshop- there's a cat, two dogs ties to a post, flowers, a gate, a shopping bag etc- all phenomenally realistically painted. Our girls are there beside the dogs to show they're not real, though they're super-convincing!
