Today was one of those glorious fall days when it was far to nice to be inside. The fall colors are now in full bloom locally, but will quickly fade in the coming weeks. The view out of my studio windows is as spectacular as ever especially as the sun started to drop below the horizon. The brilliant golden colors only lasted a few minutes. I grabbed my camera and stepped outside my door to snap this picture facing south from my deck. The trees to the left are one neighbor's hazelnuts, the red bushes our other neighbors blueberry orchard, behind that are hay fields and then Majouba Hill and Veddar Mountain. While I don't have to pay taxes on all those lands I do get to enjoy the view.
It was a glorious day in Yarrow...

That's very beautiful, Dan. It's wonderful that you get to live in a place where you are welcomed with a view like that so often.
Several years ago, while travelling in Kentucky, we came upon the Big South Fork NWR at about this time of year. It was also breathtaking. We spent the better part of the day, hiking and just enjoying the wonders that God gives us.

Today is grey and rainy but the view is no less spectacular. Wispy clouds hug the mountain, ever changing before my eyes.
Its a great day to be inside, warm and dry in Yarrow...

Great pictures Dan. We were cheated out of our fall splendour as it froze hard before the leaves turned. My ornamental Thunderchild wa the only colour in my yard, even it turned brown and I had to resort to close ups. \good thing we live in "next year" country.

I've sat at Dan's desk and expressed the same thought to him. I'd never get anything done with that view.
When the hummingbirds start flitting about the feeder out my window, my productivity stops. Of course, grandkids do the same to me, so does Letterville, Google Earth, talking to friends and family on the phone... maybe I just don't like to work!
