I have a potential job im bidding on for a big corporation that needs several(as in hundreds) of decals only thing they want this decal transfered in one piece its 46" wide by 48" long
the ones we make for them now are only 22 wide and we can transfer them fairly well with good results. the main thing here is they need to be perfect no bubbles or creases in the tape final product leaving here must be 100% perfect as its for automotive use. just wondering if there is something we can buy some sort of tool or transfer station for 48" wide transfer tape. 24" tape now is hard enough to handle even with two people holding on to it thanks for any imput Maurice @mksigns

Both are good suggestions.

The only thing I can add is to be sure to use a premium transfer tape such as Transferrite Ultra 782U or 792U. Its a little thicker, but you'll find it much easier to avoid wrinkles.

Agree with Bruce. Recently purchased 24" double shaft. Can't vouch for how 48" works. Only dissapointment I had was doing 36 20x30 coros, buzzed right along till I ran out of application tape. All stop. There is 90 day trial period too.

Hiya Maurice,
I'm a fan of both the WeberMade Tape Tool and the Big Squeegee, but a good laminator would be the only way to go if you're going to tackle a large number of graphics at once in-house.

A good quality, used laminator can be purchased for $5,000-$8,000 and there are many more that can do the job for much less.

Personally, unless business is slow, I would entertain outsourcing the job to a reputable wholesaler.

Havin' fun,

Checkers

A straight edge the width of material attached to excess will help applying graphics. A ruler of proper length or a Bubble-stick can be useful; or even a clean scrap of plastic (or Dibond) would suffice. Good Luck!

Alright, call me a dope, but couldn't you just just roll out 24 inch app tape in two runs/piece? The two inch overlap will keep it together and you're already having good results at that scale.

I've never had a problem as long as I squeegee down the first piece of app tape thoroughly before laying down the second run.

my 2 cents...
