Thanks Michael My cellphone reception with Nextel, here at my shop, is pretty bad. Is it possible that Verizon has a marginal dead spot in your location? Maybe you could switch to Nextel, ATT or something.
A buddy of mine has his with Alltel and is pleased with it, so I'll see if he can drop by the shop and see if his gets good reception here. Alltel also has unlimited service for $60 a month.

Hi, I have Sprint and love it. What I did initially was to get both Sprint and Verizon on 30 day trials and ran them side by side in areas I planned on using it. (Verizon and Sprint were the solid choices in my particular area.)In my case the Sprint was faster and didn't drop out like the Verizon. Turned the Verizon back in and just had to pay for the months service. Was worth paying for both to make sure it worked at all my locations. In my Dell laptop got the built in card which seemed to be faster than the air card. Only negative is can't move between computers like air card.
