My monitor to flicker, it's happening in all programs, but Photos do not flicker...it's just happened and I've tried rebooting but that did'nt help... is it the monitor or computer... enquiring minds want to know.

What David said---something else to consider might be that the "refresh rate" for the display has changed---for whatever reason. Go to control panel then display then see what the refresh rate is. There probably is more the one value. Might be 60 cycles or 75. Try whichever one is the one not being used, and see if things improve.
The other thing I'd consider is the drivers for whatever video card you are using---they get updated fairly often. You need to know the manufacturer, and the series. That can be found on the spec sheet that came with the 'puter, or check properties for the card in display. If the drivers are out of date, you can go online to the makers website and download the new drivers. Usually, you have to turn off whatever anti-virus software you are running, or the download can get messed up.

Sometimes if your cell phone is near the computer it will pick up a signal.

Neil..in my experience..If you have not made any software changes..Yer monitor is pooched.

A new monitor is pretty inexpensive these days!
OR you can agonise and download, and install, and then, do it all again and ask again..
Go buy a new monitor Neil!!!!

Sometimes the refresh rate is changed by some software or utility. Or sometimes you didn't notice it before but do now because of some position change.
Slow refresh rates somewhere around 45 - 50 will show a flickering effect. Faster refresh rates show no flickering.
Change refresh rates in the display adapter area.

Thanks Everyone, I'll try a few things, Frig Dave I'd be looking at the sand more than a computer screen... this a fairly new flat monitor, when I get into work in the morning I'll plug in one of the other monitors for comparison.
