Guy from the Embarq Yellow Pages calls to verify my info for the next phone book issue. After that, I asked if the price was going up. He says yes. I said 'Well, if it's going up, I don't want it. I told them that last year and they kept it the same $19.95 for 4 lines; business name, brief description, url, and address. This time he wouldn't budge. But then he gives me this spiel and offers me a quarter column ad for $20.
I said...."so.....if I keep my tiny listing you're going to raise the price, but your going to give me a quarter column for the same price?"
what's this guy up to?

When they called to renew my ad, I told them I wasn't sure I wanted to renew; it wasn't that effective for me. They offered putting the same size ad (they call it business card size, though it's slightly larger) under "banners" at no extra charge. I took them up on it, we'll see...

They hurting big time. Not only are people falling away from the YP, people are not renewing the ads either. But, I getting at least 5 hits a day on my website with associated calls.
