Maybe it's because the aluminium & vinyl were manufactured with the stuff bought last year at the higher price?
We had a local garage that sells fuel- not lots, but a fair bit. Three and a half months ago the fuel prices here fell 40c a litre. The local bloke got very few sales, as his tank full of diesel cost him a much higher price to have filled, than the current bowser price in town.
He wasn't about to drop his prices and sell at a loss, so he just sold it slowly...very slowly...to people who were desperate!
