Just got a note from Mark alterting me to Auto Rama March 6, 7, and * in Detroit, Kobo Hall where Bob Behounek and Ken Millar have organized an award ceremony for Keith Knecht. This will be a Lifetime achievement award and presented at 7PM on Saturday. As Mark said, " perhaps there are old colleagues of Mr. Knecht who'd like to give some propers to our Brother of the Brush." As many of you know, Keith has not been well this past year and this would be a great boost to him. Anyone who can attend or send congrats should do so.

Keith Knecht is one of my "Sign Gods". Amazing designer. . . .the true "Old School Way".

Like John says he's truly a "Sign God". I met him at Mike Jacksons Bash. I think that was 1982.
Someone had rented a white Pontiac, and we all decided it needing some stripes. Keith lead the way, then we all jumped in sabre's drawn. Keith gave us an excellent lesson that day. I believe the only thing Keith ever said to me was, "If you don't stop complaining about hot it is I'm going to kill you"
I love this guy.

I met him first in Kansas City meet. I think he was wearing a Panama hat, looking way too cool. He has reappeared from time to time and always doing something outstanding. He is definitely a person to look up to in our profession. Congrats!

Had the pleasure of working with him on a truck at the 100th anniversary meet of the Signs of the Times. It was so nice not to be bothered with anything vinyl or computerized. Bill

I wish I could be there to honor Keith Knecht, one of the true card writers around today. His knowledge about design and sign business history is amazing. I hope he has a good day and is doing well.

haven't been to that show on years and can't make it this year either, but last summer i saw a tired and worn looking 60 vette at a local outdoor show, it was all done up in early 70's candyapple overlapping panels, deep dish aluminum wheels with the back tires hanging out, what a time warp, just like the cars i thought were cool when i was 8 years old, and guess who's signature was on it? Congrats keth, and thanks for making me feel young again, atleast for a minute, somebody shake his hand and congratulate him for me?
