Phoebe REALLY enjoyed carving the pumpkin with her grampa. While she would have liked to hold the knife by herself that wasn't allowed quite yet.
I would have enjoyed doing something more elaborate but she was anxious to get done.
She did art direct the whole process, showing me with great expression the way the face was to look... 'like this grampa... GRRRR!'
She thought the insides were YUKKY! but did help scoop them out with a spoon. We separated the seeds carefully and took them over to Rosy (our neighbor) to roast in a pan with salt for eating later.
We put a candle in it which Phoebe picked out (red) and then lit it for an eery glow... vewwy skewwey!
We then had to lug the pumpkin out to the shop to show her mom and dad and over to the neighbors too to scare them... everybody played along to the max of course to the delight of little Phoebe!
Then it was time to get on her dragon costume and go out to terrify a good chunk of Yarrow.
It was a memorable halloween for Phoebe.
Thanks for your part in the fun Bob!
