Eric Nodurft "EJ" to his friends is to be one of our guest teachers from EnRoute at the Router Magic Workshop. He's the guy that taught me back when I first started learning EnRoute. He patiently walked me through the things that were frustrating me and then taught me much more than that too! He's a great teacher!
These days he's moved up in the corporate world, currently Product Manager for EnRoute. He knows his way backwards and forwards through EnRoute. We are fortunate to have him attend our workshop along with Jeff Hartman the fellow who co-wrote the program with his brother.
I spoke with EJ last week, looking for ideas for his name plaque. He just moved back to his beloved West Virginia and wanted something to remind him of his home. He suggested a still as one of the ideas.
We jumped at the chance to have a little fun. A couple minutes on the web produced the photographic inspiration we needed. Like all the other files this one was pretty easy to produce in EnRoute. The base and the still are done with Precision Board on the router, everything else with a little Magic Sculpt. The 'copper' pipe is actually a piece of aluminum TIG welding rod bent to shape.
Its all painted up with acrylic paints and Sophisticated finishes for the metalics. Rebecca gets the nod for a job well done!
'Still' havin' fun in Yarrow...

I can't wait to see this little family of "plaques" all together... not to mention all the other overload of eyecandy, fun, information & people I will be witness to, and part of when that day comes... but the menagerie of sculptures will be no small part of the magic!

EJ went with MultiCam (east coast dealer) for a couple of years, but missed family and West Virginia too much (as I heard it). MultiCam still speaks very highly of him. He was offered this position with EnRoute and just returned in the last month or so.
It will be great to have EJ back in Yarrow for a second visit!
