I turned my computer off last night...and when I turned it back on this morning... I could not enter any test using the keyboard.

I have done the following:

* Tried 2 different keyboards known to work...didn't help.

* Went to device manager - uninstalled the keyboard and rebooted...the keyboard light come one...but the keyboard still doesn't work. I hear a faint "click" noise when I strike a key.

* Tried both usb and PS2 keyboards...neither will function.

Is this a problem with the motherboards?? Help??

No Glenn...Mac laptop is working fine, problems with my PC Desktop....

Any suggestions as to how I might trouble-shoot this? Thanks people.

UPDATE... I discovered if I hold a key down for an extended period of time (few seconds) it will slowly type the letter....but if I just strike a key in a normal, quick fashion - no letter!!

Some setting to get the keyboard to detect and respond to a quick keyboard strike??

Todd..Had a similar thing happen about 10 years ago. In my case it was a computer virus.

I had to take my desktop machine to the local techie and he "disinfected" the computer.

Sorry that that is all I can contribute.

Toddie....go to your Control Panel ans dsee what is checked or not checked in Accessability and in Keyboard.

Si Allen is hereby pronounced a computer GENIUS! [Applause] [Thanks]

Si.... I went into Accessability as you suggested and found that somehow, "slowkeys" was set to 1 second delay.

I changed it to 0.0 second delay and it works like a charm.

Many thanks Si!! A quick .45 calibre answer right to the bullseye for you.

i guess i got here to late....but what i wanted to say was, TODDIE you could take youre keyboard to the MOVIES, and smack the guy with the cell phone with it, then get in youre NEW RIDE, and cruise on over to THE DUMPSTER, where you can either sit and wait for people to thorw stuff in or just deposit SAID KEYBOARD and go get a MAC ONE))))))))
