My daughter is going in for surgery this Thursday. It's a tonsilectomy and adenoidctomy (sp?), which is a fairly common procedure but surgery is surgery. It's got me a little nervous, and although I'm not a religious man I would feel a lot better if my friends and family can say a prayer for Zoriah, my daughter. I hope this isn't a strange post, but a lot of you I consider to be close friends and I know most of you are genuine people.
Thanks in advance, Kelsey Dum

I had my tonsils out when I was a kid.... and I know it's much more streamlined now....your daughter will do just fine.
I'd be happy to pray for your daughter Kelsey....and am doing so as I end this post. God IS good....and may your daughter's doctors skills be used to their fullest potential as God guides their minds and hands to a successful conclusion to her surgery. And may He, that transcends all understanding, give a comfort and calmness to your daughter, you, and all your extended family and friends who are by your side as you go through this event.
God's blessings from Michigan Kelsey.

Hi Kelsey, First of all, ditto to everything Todd said.
I spent a lot of years as not a religious person either, but have since gotten to know the Lord quite well. He is a source of great strength and peace in times like this...both for you and your daughter. Look to the Lord. He asks so little, and has so much to give. You will not be disappointed.
It's fortunate that she is having this done now, as it seems to become more serious in older years.

Kelsey, the prayers are coming. Please let us know when everything gets back to normal. I hope your daughter likes ice cream, that was the number one food following that surgery back in my day. Good Luck and may God Bless. Don

Kelsey, Prayers from Georgia are going up for you and your daughter. May God be with you and Zoriah and give you comfort and peace as you go thru this. I also pray that He will direct the doctors and that Zoriah will have a speedy recovery. Judy

Prayers from here for your little girl. Lots of sherbet afterwards will make her happy. ( I had that when I was 12, both procedures and I just remember that colored sherbet). The technology has come a "long" way since then.

Rick, you said that your adenoids created hearing loss (until they were removed) and this was one of the things I was afraid of. I had her hearing tested and they said it was fine, but they way she tries to pronounce some words I think she can't hear as well. I think the doc was going to check her hearing again so we will find out on that. I'm hoping this procedure will not only fix her sleep apnea but her speech and appetite as well.
Thanks again to everyone! Your prayers are appreciated.

My prayers too....my daughter(12) just had the exact same procedure about 8 months ago. I know exactly how you feel. Faith will help you get through it.
It was so bad it could stop her from breathing. She is much better now.

Kelsey, I just had some surgery myself. I too am not a religous man but had some good friends saying prayers just the same. It seemed to work as my surgery went very well.
many good thoughts and vibes heading your daughters way!!!!
