I'm not sure if you need this type of print but this company makes a high quality interior or exterior print that's somehow fused to the reverse of matte or gloss acrylic. Thay sent me samples, very impressive. It was refered to me by someone on this board.
I'm really trying to replicate the image my ENCAD NovaJet was good at. It's power supply is fried and a replacement is $500. I'm not willing to put that kind of money in that particular piece of equipment.

Mike, I have a 42" HP 5500 uv printer which I know galleries have used to archive their prints. It will print on various coated papers and canvas.I don't have a laminator.Kinkos uses this same printer. you may want to check if there is one near you and see if they have laminating also. Their prices are low but I would carefully prepare my file and babysit the operator to verify the color profile is spot on.

Thanks for all your responses everyone. From the looks of the quotes I've gotten so far, it definitely looks like I have never charged enough for that stuff. I'll go ahead and do that now before I take a bashing from the crowd.

Stein is actually quite correct... as little as 5 years ago hp uv inks were considered museum quality if they were printed on the right (coated)media and laminated against uv., even if done correctly the outdoor life of these prints were rated at 2 years, while the indoor life was rated at approximately 100 years. Now almost anyone with solvent based inks can produce prints that are rated for 3 year outdoor life unlaminated and 5 year laminated, what the indoor life of these inks are I don't know off the top of my head but that info is readily available. As well these inks can be used on a much wider range of uncoated medias, so finding a stable media is even easier. To go even farther the print quality is much better today, much higher resolutions are possible and the color gamut is wider than just 5 years ago. So what we called 'museum' quality 5 years ago is within almost every shops reach today provided they chose the right medias. ... and yes the (cost) price has dropped considerably.
