Does anyone else ever see temp files that look like CTTmp0, CTTmp1, CTTmp2, etc.? Every once in a while I get a whole herd of them on my desktop. I can delete all but one or two of the most recent files, which give me an error that the file is in use. Illustrator is the culprit, but I'm not sure why it wants to dump it's temp files on my desktop. Any ideas?

I have some kind of virus that does the same thing except mine places the files in a temporary folder. Everytime I restart the computer, it adds another file. I can always delete all except one. I believe it was listed as a polyWin virus that had something to do with McAfee. I don't know if it's causing any more harm then annoying me or not, but it will slow the computer down after a while if files aren't deleted

John, this is specifically related to Illustrator. It doesn't cause any problems, other than littering my desktop with files. It sure is annoying.
Mike, I think you're on the right track, although I work with XP rather than OSX. I sometimes work with files on the Desktop, and that is probably causing the temp files to be deposited there.
