so here i am about to cut up a piece of mdo and i see the quality is just plain crap. my customer wanted the sign to have a dimensional border so i was going to trim it out with some 1.5" decorative edged pine. my thought at this point is to use 1/2" pvc sintra for the panel which is only 18.5" x 54" and is going up against a wall and doesn't get too much sun. am i looking for trouble with expansion issues or if i use some kind of adhesive and screw it in from the back, will that be alright? the thought of not having to seal the mdo edges with epoxy and paint that panel has me all giddy...what a time saver. has anyone done this in the north country???? thanks in advance!

Home Depot/Lowes etc., sells decorative trim PVC, so unless you want the wood look for the trim, that's the way I'd go. In either case, just cut your trim edge and glue it with some PowerGrab by Loctite, also available at the home stores.

thanks mark...not sure what i wanna do now. don't really want to drive 1 hr each way to a home depot just for pvc trim...maybe i'll just have to use that lovely mdo. i can't risk them not being compatible.
