If you can consistantly letter with a 1" sponge brush on glass with water based paint, one stroke covers,...yer better than me. I have tried foam brushes but No Way do they come close to a real brush!

You might like the metal-ferruled truck lettering brushes. I am also a sponger, I have to admit that I love them. No cleanup, cheap as chips. I remember helping a fellow 'head on a mural once on a fairly smooth surface. I was happily chugging away with my Foamie when he told me to "use the right f***ing brush for the job!" He meant a fitch, but for me, the sponge was it! Alas, I have never seen 'em smaller than 1". And for real skinny letters, I like AJ's longer signature brush or a Swirly-Q (but that takes a bit of practice) Love....Jill

...MACK has some wonderful (new?) water base brushes. The ones w. a tan handle w. a brown tip. I bought a great 1 1/2" mop and various round, quill style and flat 'truck letterers'. These are sweet brushes. Yes, foamies are good also, being cheap and convenient, but IMO hair brushes are better suited for most quick work. They lay paint down heavier, last forever, and are easier for (me to do) some letterstyles, esp. scripts.

Hi Bart, Many times in the past, if I couldn't find a sponge brush the size I wanted, I just took a sharp pair of scissors and trimmed them down.

Foam brushes rock for the bigger stuff, but for anything under 1" width, I used Luco flat brushes.
The windshields in that pic could have been done with foam brushes. I prefer the good wooden handled ones, not the crappy plastic ones at the dollar stores. Rapid
