"Chucking a sickie" is phoning the boss with a feable excuse to take a paid "sick-day" off due to a imagined illness .. usually a hangover.
Most labour contracts in Australia include 5 days "Sick Leave" after that you have to revert to "My grandmother/Grandfather/Uncle/Aunt died" going to the funeral. Don't use immediate family because boss can check surname and death notices!
This is worth at least another 5 days/year before you run outa credibility.

Yeah I chucked a sickie! My birthday was on SUNDAY (jill) here so i got the day off, isnt my boss all heart! Had a party sat night with a heap of mates then early sunday morning went out motorbike riding with 8 other mates (chasing down fox's, kangaroos and just going crazy) which was great. Today i'm sore all over and really need a sickie! hehehe (no such luck as my boss is a ba$tard) Cisco, cant wait to crack another tinny mate! WD's memories hehehe
