Any help will be appreciated... I've had several times when my SP-300V stalls partially through a print job. No message on the machine other than "now processing," and nothing unusual on the VersaWorks screen either. Software is current, no other programs (other than flexi) running, should have enough RAM. Any way to get the machine to finish the job? I hate aborting and loosing the output only to start the print job over.

Have you tried re-installing VersaWorks?

We do get the odd job that hangs, and not just with the roland, I can reproduce the error on other PS printers in the shop. Probably a postscript error. Usually happens when I've imported elements from different formats into Corel. Might be the same with Flexi.

Flatten the job and sent it as a .tif

When you say "stalling", does it ever finish the job?

Has it happened with only the same media or has it happened with different Media?

I have had it happen a couple of times and I have been able to figure out 2 problems.

When using 15" material, The pinch rollers are very sensitive and have to be set perfect or they can cause the machine to go "off line".

Make sure that your sensor at the back is covered with Media when its working. If the Media lifts off at all, the print will stop and reset itself.

Good Luck and let us know if you find its something else.

Thanks all.

Laura - I have not re-installed the SW yet. Good thought, I'll try that.
Mike - good suggestion to send as a tif.
Peter - Never does finish the job, and I've had the problem with different media types. I'll pay more attention to the sensor in the back though.

When you go to print are you hitting "Rip & Print" or are you hitting "Rip only" and then going to your rip quere's to print...if you do not have enough memory and use the "rip and Print" option, the machine will out pace you computer and cause an error...

sometimes it's as simple as an anti virus program or windows doing an upgrade at an inopportune time, watch for that as well, we'll keep an eye out for other answers as well, good luck!
