We are currently using version 12. I usually only get an upgrade after there are a couple of new versions. Started with 3, then 5, 8, then 12. What are the main benefits of going from 12 to X3? I see the photo editing is better with White balance adjust and Raw image capable. What else?
TIA

I upgraded to X3 when it came out and really like it! Here are a few things I commonly use that were either not in or are better than 12.
1. Fillet/Scallop/Chamfer Docker. I use it to round the corners on text and objects to make them cut better, and also for design purposes.
2. CorelTRACE. Lots better in X3.
3. Bevel docker. Create beveled lettering easily. (Edited to add: for PRINTING purposes, does not create VINYL READY beveled lettering.)
4. Step and Repeat. (Older versions may have had this, but I just started using it after a recent thread, thanks to Amy Brown, I believe.)
5. A 'Create Boundary' tool that will create an object that is an made from an outline of all the objects you have selected. Useful tool.
6. I like the 'Fit text to Path' tool better. Took a little while to get used to it, at first I didn't like it as well...
Like you mentioned, the Bitmap Image tools are much better in X3. They are actually good enough to be useful. I'm sure there are other things, but that's all I can think of at the moment.
If you use CorelDraw a lot, I would definitely get X3... just my 1.5 cents.

I will probably get it in a few weeks. We are still in the process of moving to a new manufacturing facility. We will be doing the dreaded computer, CNC router, printers move this week along with all the phone, fax and DSL lines. I am hoping everything plugs in and runs like it is now.

Also--- Over 1,000 Opentype fonts, most of them are the same as the previous Truetype just in the newer format.
Over 10,000 clipart and digital images-- many are new and a few are even vinyl friendly. (although, the clipart won't open or import into previous versions.)
PowerTRACE X3-- very flexible and gives great results (if you know how to tweek the settings) MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than any of the previous trace capabilities.
When I bought my upgrade, it came with a WACOM Graphire Tablet, worth about $90
