I am curious if your state allows Boiled Linseed Oil? I haven't bought any for some time now, I used to use it for blending. The other day I must have went to about 5 paint stores finally one fo them says, it's been Banned!
By the way Georgia, does your state allow it. Maybe I can pick some up there.

Yup! I sold both raw and boiled in the hardware store. We still have Bon-Ami cakes there too! It's great to live in PA. love....Jill

Which, by the way, our own Ed "CJ" Williams does....that happened a mile from his house. They are devastated. That's not real typical happenings around these parts. love....Jill

Hi Terry, I hope you have a good time at the meet. It sounds like it is going to be very good. I have been to Lodi, California, Cincinatti, Ohio, Blairstown, New Jersey and Glen, New Hampshire in the last few months. Saturday I will be in Mamaroneck, New York at a meet. Keeping busy and enjoying every bit of it. I saw your picture at the meet in Scotland. All my best to your family. Bill

Hola Rick, if you can buy it there, it must be product that has not sold in awhile, from what the paint stores here told me it was banned in CA. Although I haven't tried this one art store, maybe today I'll give it a call. Hey Bill wake up you're in the wrong post, Terry left already and took all the linseed oil.
Jon, yeah you almost flipped this post into a sad one. anyway back to the oil...

I use it here in fla! Maybe I should stock up on some just in case! Some may freak just because of it's self combustible tendancies.

Seems to be banned for consumer use in some places because it is poison. Some confused it for flax oil (which is then boiled or chemically altered to make boiled linseed oil) which is consumable as a food product.
Sheesh,,, Can't they read the labels?

Cisco, as my way of getting myself on-topic here...
I was in Wally World tonight and saw they had Boiled Linseed Oil in quarts for $5.47 a quart. Let me know if you want me to pick some up and bring it to the Sign Circus, would be glad to do that.

James, Boiled linseed oil lends itself readily to spontaneous combustion. If you're using it, any rags you discard should be disposed of in a fire safe container.
