I'm fabricating a 36" x 48" sign that will have a couple of dimensional letters on it and the remainder of the sign will be cut vinyl. In the past I've used MDO, edge sealed with titebond, primed it then painted the background color.
I'm considering Extira. I'd like to lean on the experience here and ask what others prefer and issues they've had working with each. Unfortunately, HDU is not in the cards so unless there's a substrate that matches MDO or extira in price/quality I'd like to stick to the Extira vs. MDO question. Thanks all.
regards, denis

I've used Extira a few times in the last couple of years, encapsulating it with a 2-part polyurethane before priming and painting and so far so good but these dimensional signs haven't been out there long enough to give any firm recommendation. Check the archives for more discussion on this topic.
