This may be old hat but I just found out about it and wanted to pass it on. Car detailers swear by using newsprint to clean glass windows. I tried it yesterday on a vehicle and it cleaned it so good the tape barely stuck to the glass. No fuzz or residue of any kind.

I knew an old lady who cleaned her windows with vinegar and old newspaper. Just seems eaier to use Windex and paper towels! love...jill

Yup, I been using that method since hector was a pup but now I've found that by using newspaper and Rapid-Clear it not only cleans the glass but lasts a real long time too

I would have thought that the ink would've smeared, but the newspaper works great. I found out after I started letting the bum down the street clean my windshield every once in a while. He always has newspaper and seems to work great.

the trikk is to scrunch up (ball up) the newspaper and use it that way. (i only mention it, because i once saw somebody with a little piece of folded newspaper, and its not very effective that way.)

Another vote for scrunched up newspaper and vinegar here.
Mom and Dad used to clean windows with that combo back in the 50's. It is still the best way as far as I am concerned. That is how Shirl and I still clean windows at home and in the vehicles.
Just to keep Roger happy though......
If I am going to apply vinyl to glass I clean with Rapid Tac and use cheap "No Name" paper towels, because THAT works too.
Then apply dry!!!!!!! LOL
(OK..I pi$$ed him off about the dry app, but he can handle it!!!)
Edited to add..Had the car "detailed" in Mexico this past winter..Car was cleaner and nicer than when it was bought new...what did the guys use for windows?? Vinegar in a spray bottle and scrunched up newspaper!!!

I have also been told that a potato, cut in half and then rub the exposed area to your car window a few times and wipe off is as effective as RainX for repelling water.
Try it at your own risk...if nothing else, you can at least eat the potato - just pick off the bugs first.

Todd..aren't vehicles equipped with windshield wipers to keep the rain off???

I find huffing and buffing with a dry paper towel after cleaning (with a good glass cleaner and razor blade) works like charm. Spotless glass! (and I clean alot of glass!)
