Jason, the short answer is "Yes". Had it happen a few years back after I downloaded some update to SL5 rev 6.2 from Cadlink's website. The computer at the time was a Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz, with 1 Gb RAM, Win XP Home, without SP2. Before the download, no problems. After the download, "undo" went away. Cadlink referred me to their "Knowledge Base", or cough up for a live tech. Couldn't find what I wanted in the knowledge base, and too cheap to spring for tech support without a guarantee of fixing the problem. Upgraded instead to SL e6, at a fair number of bucks, and didn't particularly like it.
Eventually, at a later date, I found the solution/workaround in their website. Some computers with an excess of 512Mb RAM had problems with "undo." The fix was to get into virtual memory settings, and lower the minimum number to 100,and leave the higher setting alone. Worked for quite awhile, though eventually something else messed up the works---don't remember just what---but I went back to using the old computer with P2, 450 MHz chip, 384 RAM, on Windows 98 first edition. So far, no problems.
Next questions for you---any additional RAM lately? Any downloads from Cadlink?
The thing that still rankles, is the fact that until I downloaded their revision/upgrade/new and improved version, I had had no problems---and then it cost a small fortune in upgrading to get back up and running in the shortest time possible. And that with a version I didn't like at all.

I've been using Cadlink since version 2.2; it was still "Thermazone" back then. I seem to remember Cadlink saying that program upgrades would be "free for life". Does anyone else remember them saying that?

Never heard the "free for life" thing. Been using Cadlink software starting with "shortcut" as an add on to Corel. Later, version 4.95 Later still went to SL5. The P4 'puter even with a gigabyte of RAM worked fine until I downloaded the offending upgrade/revision. Then the loss of "undo" reared its ugly head.
The "rankling" end of it came from the attitude of tech support---they offered three options, two of which involved crossing their corporate palm with silver. The first was the knowledge base option, which in a way said "You are on your own with finding the solution in the knowledge base." Fine, had I known how to navigate the thing. The other two options were to ask a live techie at over $50 a shot how to fix the problem they gave me, on an issue they apparently knew about in the first place. The third option was to spring for SL e6 same level as SL5 as far as what it would do. In order to get running again that last is what I did.
I had had SL5 for long enough that the warranty was long gone, and with it, free tech support. Still in all, the whole deal left a real sour taste. "Ticked" is much too gentle a word or phrase.
FWIW, SL5 works just fine on this ancient P2 Win 98 384 RAM 'puter. No changes or upgrades ever again.

Just want to say thank you to Jason for bringing this subject up and to Bill for coming up with the solution.
We have SignLab 5 running on Windows ME and on Windows XP Home. Undo works fine under ME but has never worked under XP Home...until today! I changed the viritual memory "initial setting" to 100, rebooted the computer and tried SignLab 5. Sure enough I can undo and redo all day long now.
This will save me lots of time when setting up design and layout alternatives. Thanks a lot.

There is one other thing on the excess RAM issue. When I eventually found the workaround on Cadlink's site, it also said this works for computers with over 512 RAM, but no more than 1Gb. If there is more than 1 gigabyte of RAM, it will have to have some of it physically removed, so there is no more than 1 gig or 1024 Mb of RAM.
Maybe that little tidbit will help someone else.
This was not an issue with Signlab e6, or so says Cadlink.
