I may actually have to hand letter a wall here in Dallas in a few weeks. Since Chapman will be too busy figuring out his ShopBot to give me emergency lessons, this guy will become a Wallpuppy. I'm gonna be Stuck in Lodi Again--well, actually stuck for the first time, since I've never been there.
I'll get in Friday morning, bleary eyed and bushy headed, and leave on Tuesday. I'll be staying with friends who will also get me to and from the airport.
I think I'll start on Sawatzky's wall since I probably have wiggly already mastered. I'll be on the wall Friday, Saturday afternoon and some on Sunday. Monday, we check out Yosemite. Expottyia.com reserved me some potty breaks so I should be able to endure.
I look forward to meeting many BB Buddies. I'll get my late registration in next week.

We may be in big trouble on the Sawatzky Wall!!!!! Full bladders and David's humor could be a recipe for disaster.

Once David paints with me Raymond will NEVER be able to teach him straight hand lettering. Oh well... wiggly lines are more fun anyway.
The crew at Lodi looks to be more fun all the time!
This is going to be ONE COOL MEET!
Look out Jay!

It really hurts that I was within a rock throwing distance of you in Fort Worth and you choose to fly all the way to California to work with one of those immigrants.
Dan...don't get too excited - Harding will probably have another grandkid and not be able to make it. At least, that's the story that he's always telling me.

Thank you for the list Michael and Tony. Now my next project is to find mural examples from each of these artists. I've checked the Letterhead database, but have to say I've found only a few.
I am obviously missing something. Clues?

Google each of the artists names and you may come up with some more information and examples of their murals. Back issues of SignCraft and the contest issues of Signs of the Times (in years past) also has some examples of their mural work.
Once you get to Lodi you will be able to go around to the various mural sites and take a look at the maquettes of each artist, see just how many artists are working on the murals. Some murals are smaller and there may be enough folks already lined up for those projects. If so don't take it personally, just move on to another work space.
You don't HAVE to work only on one project either. Jump around to get experience at various techniques and methods of mural making. This is about learning!
Most importantly DO NOT be shy or intimidated. All the leaders and walldogs are VERY approachable. JUMP IN AND HAVE FUN!
See you in LODI!!!

This will be my first walldog event and I am so excited to be there, not only to be painting the murals but most of all to meet all of you. I have admired many of you through your work, your tutorials and input. It will be awesome to put the faces with the names I have known and read over the years.
