I recently purchased a new imac OSX (tiger) and am using Adobe Ilustrator CS. I have installed everything including the keyspan adapter driver. I can see the Magisign window in illustrator but it can't see my usb/serial port. It also tells me that this demo mode is over. I have the dongle installed as well.

In the meantime I have gone back to the trusty ibook with OSX (10.2.3) and it runs perfect. However this machine is sold so I need to get the new machine running.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks!

Email Philippe Jacques at info@magisign.com . Once you find out what was the problem and are up and running, you may want to post the solution here. That way if someone else has the same problem later, they'll be able to find the answer with a search.

Just a couple of possible suggestions. Is your adapter plugged into the Mac or a hub? If it's a hub it should be a powered one.

I'd check with Magisign for sure to make sure that there are no updates that you are missing.

Also, from the finder go under the apple menu to "about the mac". From that window go to "more info". Click on hardware>USB and everything connected should show up. Hubs, keys, hardware. It may give you a hint of what's not working.

NCS MagiSign 1.7.7 is now available for Adobe Illustrator CS & CS2 running over Panther OS X 10.3 & Tiger 10.4 (demo version would be available after the week-end)

Read the NCS MagiSign install notes inside the compressed folders.

MagiSign for Adobe Illustrator CS 1.0 runs over Mac OS X 10.3 (package MG4CS 10.3.hqx) or 10.4 (package MG4CS 10.4.hqx).

MagiSign for Adobe Illustrator CS 2 runs over Mac OS X 10.3 (package MG4CS2 10.3.hqx) or 10.4 (package MG4CS2 10.4.hqx).

The new version drives cutting plotter both through USB or serial port. Test have to be done with many new USB devices, but it runs at least for Summa cutters today.

Care : if Classic is launched, this one react like an application and take exclusive control over USB port !!

I keep at your disposal for any new remarks
