It was a long journey with a few complications but we have now arrived safe & sound in the Monterey, CA area at our new house.
We're sitting here amongst boxes and bags waiting for the cable company to arrive. Tomorrow the moving truck will arrive to deliver the rest of our stuff.

Glad you made it all safe and sound...but I bet it all feels really foreign right now. No worries, Kimberly, once you get it filled with all your own stuff, it will start feeling more comfortable. It won't be long before you are "right at home".

Monterey is as good a place as any to begin a new adventure. Post pics every once in awhile. I'm sure there's some cool things to point a camera at there.

Monterey or Salinas? Hope you don't need to move boxes in the rain. Soon you'll be finding new friends and becoming part of a new culture that'll be easier than PS. Glad you're there. When does Samantha start school?

Yes Rick, the house is actually on the very westernmost edge of Salinas (which is good because the lousy part of town is the eastern part) but Clay works in Monterey.
Yup, the movers arrive today with our stuff and it's still rainng like crazy out there!
We took Samantha to her new school yesterday to get her registered and meet her teacher - she'll start on Monday.
Luckily, my mom is arriving tonight to start helping me unpack. We took down wallpaper from two rooms yesterday. One was absolute hell and the other one came right off. Only 4 more rooms of wallpaper to go! You wouldn't even believe the list of things we have to do.
