Surgery is scheduled for first thing Wednesday morning. I'm packing up the boys and sending them to their Auntie Judi and Uncle Andy's house for a few days, so I can camp out at the hospital through surgery and recovery.
Am still printing out all the emails and posts... he REALLY enjoys reading them!!! Heck... had to open up another pack of paper tonight!!!
Also he appreciated the phone calls. If you want to call him, tomorrow is the last day, since no more phone Wednesday.
I will be online tomorrow morning, then for a bit tomorrow after work... but then dropping off the boys and heading to the hospital til probably Thursday night or Friday. I will page through the printouts (we've started a binder full of them!) for some phone numbers, so someone else can post for me how WELL everything went!
I wish you could have seen him this evening... pacing up and down the hall in his hospital gown and slippers... iv machine in one hand and cell phone in the other! LOL!!!
His attitude is GREAT, too! I'm absolutely positive the shear number of pages of posts and emails I hand him everyday, has been wonderful for keeping him feeling upbeat about everything.

Hey Bruce, if this old geezer could survive a six bypass heart surgery, it will be a breeze a young stud like you. Think positive and plan on being here for a long time. We still have to play golf in the daylite.

I have been away from the site for about two weeks or so. I didn't know anything about Bruce's heart problems. Let him know he is on my prayer list. I will try to find out how everything went with the surgery before I leave for a mission trip to Cuba on Thursday. Could you send me his phone number Dana?

Hiya Dana and Bruce, I just have to add to Bill's comment about the 6 bypasses, WOW, the record in my family is 5. As bad as this sounds, it's a great time to be sick! The knowledge and experience that Doctors have these days to address bypass surgery is incredible. The most important thing you can do after the surgery is follow thee Doctors advise. Take it easy and as hard as it may be, don't overdo it and if they say stay home from work, DO IT! My prayers are with ya!
Cheers,
Checkers

Yes, flames on a hospital gown that would be most excellent. I can just picture him now strollin' down the hall with a rolling IV rack with flames on his nighter talkin' on the phone.
Tell him to hang tough, Dana, he's a good one.

I got a hold of Bruce for about 30 seconds while the anethesiologist was there so he had to bag out of conversation. Told me to call back. I've been trying all afternoon, I think he's on one of those 1-900# phones calls and is charging it to the hospital
Best of luck tomorrow big guy! Oh yeah, ask for a few 8x10 glossies or a video, I always do and it puts me and them at ease One time I did get a polaroid shot of some foot surgery and it was pretty cool!

My dads been putting Bruces name in the prayer box at church since sunday. I do believe in prayer, and knowing the folks on this board, and how much they like Bruce, no doubt theres an overflow of prayers going out. This is just a bump in the road and we look forward to hearing how good he did through surgery and recovery. Good luck tomorrow Bruce!
