I want to see if someone can give me some info or point me in the right direction. I need to take a decently detailed photo, in this case, an old motorcycle side view, and convert it to be printed on t****s. It is going to 1 color, white printed on black. These are for biker tshirts, and a bit of a 'raw' look is what I am going for. I have played around a bit with just converting to grayscale, and playing with the contrast and brightness to wash out some detail and turn it more black and white. I am sure there is a better way to do this. Post here or email me at tmalinky@astepabovesigns.com with any help you may be able to give me! Thanks!!

We do that kind of stuff all of the time. One simple way is to convert it down to a grayscale, then invert it- that will give you your "white Ink", using the black of shirt as part of the art.

What Michael said is right, if you are wanting to lookat it in white...just remember to invert it back to make your positive.
When printing, at least from PS 7
1.make sure your image is in GRAYSCALE 2. click print preview, size appropriately, and then click on the SCREENS BUTTON 3. UNCHECK the default screens button and change the frequency to 48 or so, and change the shape to round. 4. click ok, and print. Providing you're using a goodish laser printer, you should have a decent halftone pattern with plenty of detail for your screen.
Be shure to use an #80-110 mesh screen if you are printing with white ink!!
