People passing by have always been curious as to exactly what is going on at our place. The reaction has always humored me. Although local rumors have us building a public entertaiment facility here, it is in fact strictly for our own private enjoyment. It will also be a showplace of our work, a demonstration of our skills to our invited clients.
But since we tore down the old garage a couple of weeks ago, the view to the back of the property has become much less obstructed. Although 400 feet off the road, the themed shop is now plainly visible.
The funky train station up at the front corner grabs their attention as they drive by. Then the shop which is almost finished won't let them pass. The rolling landscape andd cute 'signs' make them more curious than they can stand.
Traffic down our long winding driveway has increased dramatically of late. I think each person who ventures down the drive must tell 10 of their friends about their discovery too. And I think we haven't yet begun to feel the real impact.
The massive top section of the mountain which will hide our barn rolls out of the shop later this week, ready for the big crane lift into position.
I can only imagine the public reaction when we build our new themed house close to the road or begin running the train I am constructing.
I think it's about time I had better get serious about planning the motorized gates and intercom we intend to install soon.
It's working better than I thought already!

Dan, You are truly living my life. I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts, ideas & successes. I would add failures, but alas I haven't seen any. The pictures that you post always amaze me and were the stimulus for me to fire up the Lincoln and weld a bunch of rebar into an un-identifiable mass. (gave my son some practice with the plasma cutting it apart) Nevertheless, I’ll do it again when you post more pictures.
Thanks Pat

Hey Dan, Do you have the track made for your train yet? Were you ever out at the wild animal park in Moose Jaw? Just curious, because Jim's cousin has the train and track from there, that used to be used to cart people around the zoo. He originally planned to have it go around his property, but it never happened. If it interests you I can check and see what his plans are for it.
