SNOW! SNOW! SNOW!, everywhere you look it's snow!
The kicker, it's powder! We don't get powder here. It's really great except we have to put our snowmen and forts on hold until it warms up. I'm in no rush though! Plenty of train tracks in the snow etc.
The roads are covered and they generally don't plough in my area even though it's a bus route. Bus was sliding all over the place so they are possibily talking about a school closure. With only 2 inches of snow! LOL
How's everyone else fairing in our area? More on the way too! Yahooo, bring it on!

We're supposed to get major, dumping rain tomorrow in the Southern California desert and continue to rain for 3 more days after that. Gonna be a quiet day at the golf course tomorrow.

Well Donna... I know it makes you happy. So I'll tolerate it for a day or two. Having a nice warm shop helps a little too.
But then I'm ready for spring.

Man! Funny...It's been like spring/summer weather here (in the 70's)...But it did rain today. My kids went skiing earlier this week (in Gatlinburg,TN) It just seems odd snow skiing in 60 degree weather. Somebody ever thought of opening a man-made snow skiing resort in Hawaii, Doug? It DOES sound bizarre, doesn't it?

think yourselves lucky. We get an inch of snow (or too much rain, or too windy, or the wrong leaves on the line) and it chaos here. Everthing grinds to a halt and it takes years to get home. We just can't cope with extremes of weather.
I think snow is real pretty, but I dread it coming when I have to go to work.I'd like to experience it in a country that can deal with it!!!
Enjoy your's though Donna. Love Barb

I was quiet through the "White Christmas" thing, but, it is no longer scenic. We officially got 7.6 inches yesterday. Not a ton, I know, but a grim reminder.....9 weeks till SPRING! Flowers are way better than snow ANYDAY of the year! I can almost smell the Lilacs from here!

Quit your whining! I wish I was there! I have a freelance designer who helps me out sometimes, and she just got back from a Hawaiian honeymoon. I am so jealous! I suppose you long for what you do not have....just human nature. But, you will never hear me whine about a hot day...I reserve the right to complain all winter! Oh well, back to work!

Snow? We have 55 cm right now...don't know what that is in real measurement, but it's a lot! Streets are about 12 feet narrower because of the snowbanks, and the city crews are working overtime to clear them. hey, Donna, my daughter lives in Surrey, and being a kid who learned to drive in northern Manitoba, she won't go out when there's snow on the ground out there. She's afraid of all the Left Coast drivers! MUR

I like the cold and snow. yesterday it was blowing snow so there are drifts everywhere. I can hardly wait to go get a few pics of the new landscape that has formed by the snow. Next week it is to get lows of -30 but sunny for a few days. I am in the mids of putting in a stone fireplace in my home so I will have to hurry to get it done. Love winter....... in July

I just froze my buns and feet off while plowing our 400 foot long driveway with the tractor for the last hour. I don't even own a pair of boots or heavy coat as we really don't get much in the way of wiinter here... normally. I've decided I like running my John Deere much better in the summer.
I'm spending the rest of the day in my nice and VERY WARM shop.
I'm ready for spring now.

Ain't it great to be a kid??? Whoohoo, as snow fun is not to be missed if you can! I lived in Fla for 16 years and now that I'm back for the last 17, it's a joy to have the snow and change of seasons. There's just nothing like it! This weekend, we're playing in the snow! (been kind of lean in northern Illinois the last few years; only one huge week every year, then it's mild, so we love that too. And, if we want to ski, we can head away about 40 miles.

Go ahead and laugh Dave! I'm loving this! The SNOW part that is.
Now it's just windy with no new snow. Cold barren iceland with sidestreets in bad condition. This isn't nearly as much fun... but it can all change overnight. Talk about hopeful.
Everything has blown away except for the entrance of our driveway of course, we are greeted with a nice big drift every morning to have to scoop up!
No plow here Dan, hand shoveling all the way. I would hate to guess the length of our driveway, but you've seen it so you'd know. As for fancy snow boots, I wear 2 pair of sox in my gumboots. For town I shine them up. LOL

Glad you are enjoying it too Donna. We've got over 20" here on the ground and it looks awesome. Even went for a run today, a bit of a challenge, but still a whole lot of fun. Unlike Janette I did not get a tan (maybe a little wind burn on the cheeks), but I was not wearing a tank top either...lol
