I've been a number of times (it's the only sign show i've ever been too) and i've talked to other sign people and i think the concensus is that it's one of the best in the US.
The bullpen is wonderful, always lots going on there.
Every imaginable vendor is there. You can pick up lots of brochures, free samples, etc.
The convention center hotel (the Sheraton) is a beautiful hotel (actually lots of Miss America memorabilia since that is where the contestants stay). And it is connected to the center so it's very convenient.
Last year was my first year doing signs full time and i took many courses, which were terrific, but this year i'm going to spend more time in the bullpen watching the masters at work.
The USSC web site (http://www.ussc.org/) has all the info.
I'm sure it's not as fun as a Letterhead meet, but there sure is a lot to see.
edited: and yes, i'll be there all 3 days - hope many other letterhead are there so i can meet them in person...
edited: to spell Karyn's name correctly... sorry Karyn.
Thanks, Steve

This sign show is a great one to go to, you meet some of the best in the business teaching seminars and classes. Everyone seems willing to spill the beans on how to do anything you want to know. I recently went to the Charlotte NC's BIG SHOW, a good regional show but lacking in big equipment and the variety you'll find in Atlantic City. If I had to choose, Atlantic City all the way. I'm planning on going again this year, can't buy anything but I'm going anyway.

We're only a couple hours by car from AC, but we usually go every 2-3 years, because most of the exhibitors have the same stuff year after year. Digital equipment has really taken over a lot of the space, but there is still a good variety of vendors. We'll be there this, mostly because we want to check out the BORGATA hotel. The show rate is half their regular price!

I go every other year and this year is the year but it doesn't look like I'll make it. Ditto on everything said above. I usually am on a budget and always get a motel 15-20 minutes away. The thing that I would do different is that I wouldn't get a reservation. Its out of season and you can get a motel 5-10 minutes away for the same price that were got 20 minutes away.

Glad you posted this Karyn! I spent a while on the web site last weekend thinking about going. I plan to visit my mom in Chicago this winter & when you've traveled as far as I will, Atlantic City is as good as next door I was pretty sure this was a good show for me (& a good way to write off my travel expenses)... but all the positive responses here make me even more sure... & yes, meeting other heads would be a must to factor into my itinerary planning
I went to a NESA show in Vegas years ago, but I've still never been to a letterhead meet... (except a tiny Maui one years ago that I didn't plug into as much as I should have)
What would really be great is if there were a meet that I could catch in the same 2-3 week period. Any meets in the eastern half of the US in early Dec? I know!!... party at Dan Antonelli's place

Karen, My wife and I will be there also. She has joined me in the biz since we had our baby and is excited to meet everyone she has called for supplies. We'll spend 3 hours in the exhibit hall and 21 hours in the tropicana. Look for us at the wheel.

I'll be there. I live near Philadelphia which is 60 miles from A/C. Last year I brought my finace' and I think he was bored so I left early - this time I'll hang around the bullpen more. Hope to see some of you there.

Doug, snow has been a given a few years running at the Atlantic City show - at least that's my memory. Last year there was a scare, we had a printer overheating and setting off the fire alarm - we had to evacuate into ice and snow.....
I kept reading names of people I would just love to meet in person, and was wondering how to invite them to our EstiMate booth and allow me to do that, and then Howard said it better than I could.
And about the show: I think it's the most wonderful and varied show. Though they do have a life of their own, and sometimes don't hold true to form or their own history. Hope very much to see all of you there. Tell me who you are, don't do the guessing game..OK!

Speaking as a USSC board member - yes! it's a great show to go to. But speaking as an exhibitor that does at least 7 major shows a year, this one absolutely is the best of them all!
I hope all of the Letterville residents will stop by and introduce themselves - and make plans to attend breakfast on Saturday morning where you'll have a chance to learn about the Atlantic City children's charity that benefits from the Bullpen.

Bob, are you still heading this way this fall?
February I'll be back here surfing, but in December, I will travel wherever I have to go to get some snowboarding in on this trip. Actually I learned to board in New york. Hunter Mountain. Used to get a package bus, rental & lift deal, then skip the bus ride home saturday night to stay at the lodge, ride another day & hitch back into the city for work on Monday.

Doug, probably not. We are shooting for a trip in the fall of 2005, or the spring of 2006. Any particular time of the year to avoid? Any time better than others?

I've been to the Atlantic City show, and it is a good one. I'm going this year specifically to meet a few vendors (Roland, SignGold and U.S. Banner)and take in a couple of days of R&R.
I'll be sure to stop by the TransferRite booth and say hello as well.
