Okay, I HAD them bookmarked, but the lighning bolt killed them on the old PC.
There were a few links with step by steps for creating prismatic lettering, drop shadows and a few other tricks in Coreldraw, making ready to cut files to got to my Roland.
Anyone have these? This is what I'm shooting for...
Thanks in advance. Rapid

As far as Ll those nodes is concerned, it only happens on the curved shapes. I HAVE and COULD reduce the nodes but then some alteration of the outline will occur. I just ignore them and go ahead and cut. They don't seem to have any effect on my Roland. I am, however, cutting direct without any intermediary program. You might want to try cutting direct and see if that improves the cutting.

This might sound a bit odd for reducing node counts but it has worked for me in the past witrh nearly the identical situation. I had an outline on a scripty font that was node city from hell. A double outline actually, letter, relief then outline. Was some boat lettering.
Anyway. I made the image color black, bitmapped it at about 600 dpi. The image was about, if i remember correctly 12 x 36. Saved it as a black & white BMP image, brought it into Corel Trace and traced it with the default "clipart" setting. I didn't lose anything worth mentioning and my node count was signifigantly reduced.
Even as black and white it was a huge bitmap. I just deleted it when I was done.

I remember that Corel 8 actually had a "reduce nodes" function. Its the only version that I know of that has it. It worked great! Dont know why they got rid of it.

It is there in all the versions from 8 up Stevo...Maybe in a different location though. Been a while since I used ver 8.
When you marquee select all the nodes there is a drop-down window on the property bar. Just click on it and a slider will appear. You can move the slider to the right and watch as the nodes are removed. When you just put your mouse over the window it says "curve smoothness".
Only version that might not have had it is ver 9 since that version produced WAY fewer nodes in the contour. Unfortunately it also produced flat spots here and there for no apparent reason. These flat spots were a real pain when outlining something like a script font cuz you'd never notice it until after you cut the damn outline!!!!!!
