Ok this is a reply to an old post and dean may well have got his fix, but i found this post while searching a solution to my own very similar problems. Edit to say I am running Omega CP 1.56 build 40.
I bought that Sony Vaio notebbok and have been busy installing all my software into its Win Xp Pro SP2 all seems to function except Omega even an old Signlab.
Anyway I posted at Edgetalk and got this idea from Bob Gilliland which I tried and it worked perfectly so thought I would share it here for anybody that has SP´woes in the future.
Henry,
This is a documented issue that happens on occasion with 1.56. Appears to happen more so with XP Home then Pro, but has happened on both. Perhaps Tony D will pitch in with more details.
What has probably happened is an improper file registration. There are usually a few files that may need to be registered into the OS. To register them, simply drag and drop the files onto the regsvr32.exe file. This is normally found at the following relative path; C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe.
The files needing registered are usually:
arrowsimulator.ocx
gspcolorgrid.ocx
gspcolorwell.ocx
gspcvtr.ocx
gspmarker.ocx
These runtime library files are normally found at the following relative path; C:\GSP\Software\
Please post back if this did or did not resolve the issue. Haven’t read much from you on any of the boards recently, guess this means the router is keeping you busy
