This is the situation.. Old style granite church sign with the swinging glass door that opens on both sides. Has the changable lettering inside..
What they want:
Gut this thing, install new lighting, and add translucent panels to the outsides in a sandwich fasion.
Not too thrilled about this one. And I need some input.
First off, got the electrical covered, my concern is attaching these panels in such a way that moisture won't be a problem, but still be able to change bulbs easily from time to time.
So far I am thinking of gutting this thing, and banding the inside with fresh 2 x's to give me something to attach too...
Other than that, I am sort of open for suggestions..
Have never worked with translucent panels before and would like some tips on cutting and drilling them also...
Any help would be apprecieted on this one..
If I have left it vague, aske specific questions and I will answer them best I can...

Leno, My only input on this one from experience... It gets hot as hell in those things. A black background can actually melt the white letters on it. Plexi panels inside, or out, will need plenty of expansion room. That's all I got.
